In the summertime, acne can get worse because of the heat and the humidity in many areas. Even in states where the air is much drier, acne can flare with the heat because people sweat more. When you want to take care of acne in the summer you need to be extra careful to keep your skin clean. Because you will sweat more and because there is often more humidity in many areas of the country during the summer, keeping skin clean is one of the main worries that people have.

You should be washing your face twice a day in order to prevent breakouts, and if your skin is oily you might want to have oil blotting papers with you to use during the day. If you wear makeup during the summer the oil blotting papers can help you keep the oil on your face from damaging the look of your makeup, and you won’t have to wash it off and start over during the day. At night, though, it’s very important to be sure that you take the makeup off with a good makeup remover and then cleanse your face properly. If you don’t you could end up with more acne than you started out with.

No matter what time of year it is, makeup should not be allowed to sit on your face all night. It’s very bad for the pores and the skin, even if it’s designed not to clog pores. Also in the summer there are things that you can do to help your skin stay looking better, and one of them is to drink a lot of water. People will find that they get dehydrated pretty quickly in the summer, and one of the best ways to avoid that is to get a lot more water. People might not always be able to get all the water they want, but they can eat fresh fruits and vegetables with a high water content, too, in order to have more hydration.

While eating well and drinking a lot of water is very healthy for the skin, keeping it clean is the most significant issue during the summer. That’s because the extra sweat that’s produced when the weather is very warm can cause bacteria to build up much more quickly, resulting in clogged pores and breakouts that otherwise wouldn’t be a problem when the weather is cooler.
